Clean windows in the wheelhouse contribute to safety when sailing in bad weather. Mavé has designed a unique system that will actively dehumidify windows and air inside the wheelhouse. MAR-IX defrosters will first heat up the air and then cool it down again, which causes the air to be dehumidified. In this way the humidity is reduced, but the temperature in the wheelhouse remains at a constant level. Low humidity will cause no fogging windows and therefore the visibility remains optimal.

MAR-IX defrosters are available in several types, capacities and power supplies, both at 24Vdc and 230Vac. Optionally, the defroster can be equipped with electric heating. The defroster unit is controlled by a separate control panel. In case a MAR-IX communication system is installed, the defroster in the wheelhouse can operate as a fan coil unit when the defroster function is not active.

Other unit dimensions and capacities can be produced on request.
